About us
About the SMA
Motocross at its best, for riders and families across Saskatchewan.
Welcome to the Saskatchewan Motosport Association
We are a not-for-profit organization that promotes the sport of motocross throughout Saskatchewan. We organize the provincial motocross race series under the rules and regulations of Motorsports Racing Canada (MRC).
Our association values family, friendship, fun, and safety, and we strive to foster these values in everything we do.
Our mission is to support and promote the sport of motocross in Saskatchewan. We are dedicated to providing a fun and safe environment for all riders, regardless of their skill level or experience. Our events and activities aim to raise general awareness of the sport of motocross within the province.
Part of our community
At the Saskatchewan Motosport Association, we believe that motocross is more than just a sport, it is a way of life. Our community is made up of passionate riders and enthusiasts who share a love for the adrenaline, excitement, and challenge of motocross. We are committed to fostering a sense of camaraderie and friendship among our members, and we welcome riders of all ages and backgrounds to join us.
Whether you are a seasoned rider or a newcomer to the sport, we invite you to become part of our community. We offer a range of races throughout the year all over Saskatchewan. Our goal is to create an inclusive and supportive environment where riders can develop their skills, make new friends, and have fun.
We look forward to seeing you on the track!

COVID-19 updates
June 1, 2020
To our valued partners, members, and ridership: at the end of May, the SMA board contacted the Covid-19 business response team in Saskatchewan, which confirmed that motocross racing would be included in phase 4 of the reopen Saskatchewan plan. The group size maximums and dates for phase 4 were still to be determined. The SMA’s insurance provider for race events confirmed that without substantial or written approval from government, events could not be insured.
With the health, safety and well being of partners, members and ridership in mind, the SMA made these decisions: SMA sanctioned race events would not take place in June or July of 2020; a Provincial Championship Series would not take place as a result; series points and awards would not be presented in 2020, including the year end banquet.
The SMA remained committed to working alongside clubs in Saskatchewan and kept the potential to sanction single events or even a fall series open, should it meet the requirements and be Covid rule compliant. Members who had already purchased an SMA regional membership were to be emailed options for refund or carry forward. Questions about MRC memberships went to the national MRC office. Riders were encouraged to contact their local clubs for member events, riding schools and other activities.
